Jerome Christenson, 91, of Bottineau, died Saturday, July 14, 2012, at a Bottineau hospital. His funeral will be held Friday, July 20, at 10 a.m., in St. Mark's Catholic Church in Bottineau. Visitation will be today, July 19, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a prayer service today at 7 p.m., all at Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Burial will be at St. Mark's Catholic Cemetery, Bottineau.
Jerome Christenson, a son of Charles and Eugenia (Rivard) Christenson, was born June 25, 1921, at Omemee. He attended the Notre Dame Academy in Willow City and later graduated from Omemee High School. He attended the North Dakota School of Science in Wahpeton for a time.
On June 24, 1961, he married Alice Warmsbecker at Towner. Following their marriage, they made their home in Bottineau and Jerome farmed in the Bottineau area his entire life. On Sept. 29, 2009, he entered the Bottineau Good Samaritan Center.
He is survived by: his wife, Alice, of Bottineau; daughter, Cheryl Leach, of Bismarck; sons, Jeffrey and Gerald, of Bottineau; four grandchildren; sister, Alyce Jundt, of Bottineau; sister-in-law, Irene Christenson, of Columbia Falls, Mont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Chester; and brother-in-law, Tony Jundt.
