Donnie Wald, 60, Norwich, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012, at Trinity Hospital in Minot.

Donald Joseph Wald was born Aug. 18, 1951, the son of Andrew and Mathilda "Mag" Wald, in Minot. He was raised in Norwich and educated in Minot. He graduated from Bishop Ryan High School in Minot in 1969.

Donnie was once married to Marcia Klein. They made their home on a farm east of Surrey, where he farmed and was self-employed as a carpenter. From this union three children were born: Eric, Chantyl and Tricia.

He was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church in Minot.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, grilling, riding horse, and making deer sausage. He was always willing to help anyone who had a building project or home improvement project.

Those who shared in his life: children, Eric (Nicole) Wald, Norwich, Chantyl Wald, Minot, and Tricia (Tanner) Houmann, Minot; grandchildren, Matthew, Evelyn and Owen Wald; and Carter and Aiden Houmann; and one grandchild on the way; father, Andy Wald, Norwich; brothers and sisters, Gary Wald, Maddock, Dianna (Bob) Marty, Pevely, Mo., Sandra Moe, Norwich, and Rosemary Wald, of Elizabeth, Colo. Many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.

Donnie was preceded in death by his mother, Mathilda P. "Mag" Wald; brother, Joseph Wald; sister-in-law, Becky Wald; maternal grandparents, John and Margaret Klein; paternal grandparents, Joe and Anna Wald; and several uncles and aunts.

Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, July 21, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

Visitation: Friday, July 20, from noon to 5 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Vigil prayer service: Friday, 7 p.m., at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot.
