Regina H. "Jean" Salwey, 79, of Max, formerly of Minot, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012, in Minot, surrounded by her loving family, after a short battle with an aggressive cancer.
Regina was born Nov. 22, 1932, near Karlsruhe, to Rochus and Regina (Brown) Senger. She graduated from Karlsruhe High School in 1950 and received her teaching certificate from Minot State Teachers College. She taught country school for three years.
On Nov. 23, 1953, Regina married Edward Salwey at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Karlsruhe. They eventually settled in Minot to raise four children. She worked in various service positions throughout her life, until retirement in 1992.
She was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church in Minot.
Those who shared in her life: Husband, Edward, of Max; children, Joan (Glen Jr.) Dunkel, of Max, Kevin Salwey, Black Diamond, Wash., Kenneth (Jacque) Salwey, Bismarck, and Julie (Kevin) Kouba, Minot; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Josephine Mattern, Coeur d'alene, Idaho; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; four sisters; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and five nephews.
Funeral: Friday, July 20, 2012, 3 p.m., at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot.
Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation and vigil service: Visitation will be Thursday, July 19, from 2 to 7 p.m., with the vigil prayer service Thursday at 7 p.m., both in Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
