Bid raises $1,500 for Hope Village

July 15, 2012
Minot Daily News

The high bid for the Zac Brown Band "Eat and Greet" raised $1,500 for Hope Village in Minot.

The village auctioned two tickets to the band's July 21 show at the North Dakota State Fair and an opportunity to meet the band at a dinner before the show. A Minot native who requested to remain anonymous submitted the top bid in the auction, conducted online and at an open house July 11.

Hope Village officials report $1,500 is about the cost of a month's worth of diesel fuel used in the refrigerator trucks to store the food that the village serves its volunteers. Hope Village is a faith-based operation that is providing accommodations for volunteers who need a place to stay while assisting with flood recovery.
