Pearl L. Christianson, 84, Minot, formerly of Glenburn and Lake Metigoshe, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Maple View Memory Care in Minot.

Pearl Lucille Thompson was born Aug. 15, 1927, a daughter of Olie and Martha (Ovrevik) Thompson, in Glenburn. She was raised and educated in Glenburn, graduating from Glenburn High School in 1945.

Following her high school graduation, she attended Minot State Teachers College and graduated with a standard teaching certificate in 1947. She then taught school in Cando and Sherwood for a time.

Pearl married Lester R. Christianson June 18, 1950, in Glenburn. They made their home in Glenburn and farmed east of Glenburn. She enjoyed being a housewife and mother.

They resided in the Glenburn area until 1983, when they moved to Lake Metigoshe. They spent their summer months at Lake Metigoshe and Bottineau, and spent their winters in Mesa, Ariz., until 2000, when they moved to Garrison, and in 2005, made Minot their home. Les passed away Dec. 25, 2009, and Pearl continued to reside in Minot, most recently at MapleView in Minot.

Pearl enjoyed music, as she was the church organist at Our Saviors Lutheran Church and Trinity Lutheran Church, both in Glenburn. She also enjoyed singing in church and with her special friends and her brother, Lawrence. She was also a member of Metigoshe Lutheran Church, First Lutheran Church, Bottineau, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Garrison, and currently was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Minot.

Surviving family includes: children, Cindy Hoiland, Bottineau, ReNae (Lee) Weishaar, Minot, Rick Christianson (Maggie VanEeckhout), St. Paul, Minn., and Randy (Darcy) Christianson, Mandan; grandchildren, Lyndee (Tyler) Hoiland Heser, Billy (Amy) Weishaar, Dustin Weishaar, Koby Weishaar, and Drew (Kristen) Christianson; great-grandchildren, Teegan Heser, Lily and Lane Christianson, and Kyler and Kynzlee Weishaar; brother, Lawrence (Opal) Thompson, Minot; sister, Mae Olson, Minot; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tilfred (Maxine) Christianson, Minot, Conrad (Agnes) Christianson, Glenburn, Donald (Sally) Christianson, Minot, Myrtle Snustad, Moorhead, Minn., and Virginia Christianson, Minot; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lester; brother, Tilman (Margaret) Thompson; sister, Louise (Leonard "Shorty") Marum and Clara (Cliff) Griffin; and brother-in-law, Stuart Olson.

Funeral: Monday, July 16, 2012, 11 a.m., at Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot.

Visitation: Sunday, July 15, from noon to 5 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
