Frank Ihli, 70, Minot, passed away Monday, July 9, 2012, at Trinity Hospital in Minot.

Frank Marcus Ihli was born May 15, 1942, the son of Marcus and Theresa (Hoerner) Ihli, in Glen Ullin. He was raised and educated in various cities in North Dakota and graduated from Medina High School in 1960.

Frank enlisted in the Army on June 16, 1961. He proudly served his country and was honorably discharged April 20, 1964.

Frank married Kathryn Rae Moe on Nov. 20, 1965, in Velva. They made their home in various cities in North Dakota and Newton, Kan. He worked several jobs throughout his life, most recently as a heavy equipment operator and a groundskeeper.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed playing games, music and sports. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan.

Surviving family includes: daughter, Carolyn (David) Freuer, Minot; son, Michael "Skippy" Ihli and his fiancee, Linda Kunkel, Granville; grandchildren, Anthony (Kim Weismann) Freed, Joe Ihli, Cody Eberle and Paul Ihli; brothers, Willie (Diane) Ihli, Burnsville, Minn., Donald (Shirley) Ihli, Lansford, Nick (Angie) Ihli, Beulah, and Steven (Shari) Ihli, Killdeer; sisters, Sister Jan Ihli, Fargo, Carol Elsberry, Rolla, Mary Lou (Roby) Taylor, Sioux Falls, S.D., Kathleen Ihli, Bismarck, Dolly Branley, Bismarck, Geraldine Heintz, Sawyer, and Julie (Art) Grove, Gardeners, Pa.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Marcus and Teresa Ihli; wife, Kathryn; infant son, Paul Ihli; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herbert and Pearl Moe.

Private family funeral: Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
