ANTLER - Luella Alvina Jespersen, 79, Bismarck, formerly of Antler, died Friday, June 6, 2012, at a Bismarck hospital.
She was born Oct. 21, 1932, at the Watland farm in Antler Township, to John and Selma (Jacobson) Watland. She attended Anderson Country School and graduated from Antler High School in 1951. She attended the Bottineau School of Forestry and received a certificate as a registered nurse.
Luella married Bert Emil Jespersen on July 24, 1955, at the Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church, rural Antler. They were blessed with six children. Luella also worked as an RN at the Renville-Bottineau Memorial Hospital, Mohall, and the Westhope Home for the Aged nursing home.
Luella was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church, Antler, and the Willing Workers ladies aid, the Happy Hour Homemakers Club, Farm Bureau, FMHA and was the clerk/treasurer of Wayne Township, Bottineau County, for many years.
Family: Husband of 56 years, Bert Jespersen, Bismarck; children, Kathy Jespersen, Stanley, Keryl (Ken) Lesmann, Minot, Kristene Jespersen, Bismarck, Brent (Cindy) Jespersen, Bismarck, Tommy (Cheryl) Jespersen, Velva, and Oren (Sheri) Jespersen, Antler; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Pauline Brackelsberg, Aurora, Colo.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; sisters-in-law, Ruth Watland, Minot, and Arlene Watland, Bismarck.
Luella was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Albert, Stanley, Tommy, Raymond, Harry, Alvin and Roy Watland; and sisters, Helen Mjoen and Luella May Watland; and granddaughter, Jena Jespersen.
Funeral: Wednesday, July 11, at 11 a.m., at the Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church, rural Antler.
Burial: Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church Cemetery, rural Antler.
Family Service: Wednesday, 9 a.m., at the church.
Visitation: Today, July 10, from 2 to 7 p.m., at Brose Funeral Home, Mohall.
