TOLLEY Dagney Charlotte Christine Siebert, 93, Velva, formerly of Tolley and Minot, died Saturday, June 30, 2012, at a Velva nursing home.
Dagney was born Jan. 12, 1919, in Kenmare, to Eiler and Maren "Christine" (Johansen) Pedersen. She graduated from Kenmare High School in 1936.
Dagney married Lester Siebert on April 12, 1945. They lived in the Kenmare area until purchasing a farm near Tolley, where they raised their four children. Lester died Sept. 13, 1990. Dagney remained on the farm until February 2003 when she moved to Somerset Court assisted living in Minot. She entered the Souris Valley Care Center, Velva, in January 2012.
Dagney belonged to the ELCW Ladies Aid in Tolley, where she was the treasurer for many years. She also belonged to the Tolley Senior Citizens and was secretary for a long time.
Dagney enjoyed gardening, flowers, playing board games, cards, reading, needlepoint, quilting and spending time with her family. Everyone enjoyed her excellent cooking and baking talent, especially her homemade buns and cookies. She was a very giving and loving person and will be missed by many people.
Family: Those who shared in her life were her sons, Donald (Linda) Siebert, Kenmare, Dale (Kay) Siebert, Wahpeton, Gary Siebert (Lisa Gamuciello), Lakewood, Colo.; daughter, Louise (Brad) Richards, Whitehouse, Ohio; grandchildren, Paul (LeAnn) Siebert, Dana (Jim) Steele, Jason (Lisa) Siebert, Kari (Chris) Winter, Amy Siebert, Kristen Richards and Adam Richards; stepgrandchild, Sarah (Dominic) Bissionette; great-grandchildren, Joatta Siebert, Tanner Steele, Taylor Steele, Katerina Siebert, Faith Siebert, Braeden Steele and Regan Winter; stepgreat-grandchildren, Emily Pogatshnik, Vona Pogatshnik, Alex Vigestad, Abigail Stogner, Olivia Bissionette and Bianca Bissionette; brother, Efraim (Margaret) Pedersen, Kenmare; brother-in-law, Bill Siebert, Minot; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dagney was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Lars "Gudmund" (Ruth) Pedersen, Eiler (Lillian) Pedersen and Enok (Gladys) Pedersen; and sisters, Maria (Thorvald) Nelson and Lillie (Bror "Nels") Nelson.
Funeral: Friday, July 6, at 11 a.m. at Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tolley.
Burial: McKinney Cemetery, rural Tolley.
Family Service: Today at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Visitation: Today from 2 to 7:30 p.m. at Brose Funeral Home, Mohall.
