Carol Olson, 52, Lincoln, formerly of Max, died Sunday, July 1, 2012, in a Bismarck hospital.
Carol was born on May 5, 1960, in West Covina, Calif., to Eugene "Buck" and Virginia Lemond. She was raised in Norwalk and Whittier, Calif., and graduated from Sierra High School in Whittier in 1978. She attended Mount San Jacinto College, Mount San Jacinto, Calif.
Carol married Donald Olson on Aug. 21, 1982. Their son, Michael, was born in Whittier. The family moved from California to Max in 1989. Their daughter, Hanna, was born in Minot and joined the family.
Carol worked at Starion Financial at the time of her illness. Previously, she owned and operated the Centennial Cafe in Max for 10 years with her husband, Donald.
Carol is remembered as a loving mom and wife. She was always interested in decorating, crafts, and a good garage sale. She loved spending time with family and friends. Her sense of humor was infectious and she was always the life of any get together. She will be missed by family and friends alike.
In June, she was able to attend her son Michael's wedding in Minneapolis which was a major goal for her.
Carol was preceded in death by: parents, Eugene and Virginia; and nephew, Matthew Olson.
She is survived by: husband, Donald; children, Michael (Natalie) and Hanna; brothers, Dale and Everette; sisters, Stella Cox and Wanda Marlin.
Memorial services will be held Friday, July 6, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Max.
Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in rural Max.
