Emma Kurtz, 94, McClusky, died Sunday, July 1, 2012, in a Turtle Lake hospital.
She was born Jan. 6, 1918, to Adolph and Magdalena Bender, south of Mercer. She was once married to Christian Schell, and later once married to Arthur Noga and then Leo Kurtz.
Survivors: daughter, Phyllis Helm, McClusky; son, Dale Schell, Apache Junction, Ariz.; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.
Her wishes were to donate her body to the University Of North Dakota Medical School in Grand Forks, with no funeral services. Burial will be later in Grand Forks.
