MINOT (AP) - A North Dakota man has been sentenced to nearly two years in prison for lying to investigators about a sexual assault case.

Robin Peltier Jr., also known as Rocky, was charged in federal court with false statements. He pleaded guilty in March.

Authorities say Peltier admitted that he lied about being in a motor vehicle and engaging in a sexual act with another person on Feb. 28, 2010.

U.S. District Judge Daniel Hovland sentenced Peltier to 21 months in prison.
