According to Andy Cummings, spokesman for CP Rail, a westbound train carrying mixed freight hit the trailer portion of a semi truck two miles east of Burlington at a grade crossing Thursday morning. The semi truck was traveling south across U.S. Highway 2 when the collision occurred and CP officials and local law officers were on the scene securing the site. The driver of the semi truck was transported to the hospital.
