WILLISTON - Ervin Evanson, 89, Miles City, Mont., formerly of Fairview, Mont., and Williston, died Tuesday, June 26, 2012, in Miles City.
He was born Oct. 6, 1922, to Edward and Mamie Evanson, in Noonan. In December 1942, he enlisted in the Navy and attended basic training in Farragut, Idaho. He married Marion Pieters on July 20, 1943. He then served in the South Pacific and in Guam. He was discharged in December 1945.
Survivors: wife; daughters, Lila Markwald, Billings, Mont., Nancy Letke, Miles City; sons, William, of Sidney, Mont., John, Yakima, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Charlotte Meyer, Coon Rapids, Minn., Joan Stenerson, Glyndon, Minn.
