Betty Ann (Hulberg) Boehm, 76, Watford City, formerly of Minot, passed away after a long illness on June 27, 2012, at Trinity Hospital in Minot, surrounded by her loving family. She was beloved by all and will be sorely missed.
Betty Ann was born June 12, 1936, in Minot, at Trinity Hospital, to Clarence and Anne (Widdel) Hulberg. She was raised on a farm at South Prairie, located south of Minot. She attended country school through grade eight at Freedom #1. Betty Ann attended high school in Minot, graduating with the Minot High School Class of 1954. As a young adult, she worked as a secretary at Northern States Power Co. and later at Cenex in Minot.
She married Arvid Haugeberg in 1955. To this union, four children were born Tom, Carrie, Jeff and Mitch. She resided in Watford City, where she raised her family while operating a day care for many years. Betty Ann also was employed by Badlands Hardware, Dr. Ebel's office and Getty Oil. She also took on many outside jobs as a bookkeeper, often doing this work at night.
She later married Don Boehm on Dec. 31, 1981. Together they owned and operated a cattle ranch north of Watford City, where they worked side-by-side. She thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor lifestyle and was proud to help raise her two stepdaughters, Kara and Kami.
Betty was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Watford City. She will be remembered for her positive attitude toward life and carrying on three conversations at once. She always believed God has a plan for everything.
Some of Betty's passions included living life to the fullest, visiting with her family and many friends, cooking, baking, quilting and spending time with her grandchildren.
Betty is survived by: her husband of 31 years, Donald Boehm; son, Thomas Haugeberg, Grassy Butte, daughter, Carrie (Monty) Carson, Grassy Butte, son, Jeff Haugeberg, Minot, and son, Mitch (Lynn) Haugeberg, Watford City; stepdaughters, Kara Boehm, Minot, and Kami (Casey) Fredericks, Halliday; grandchildren, Chase and Layne Carson, Tommy Haugeberg, MeLinda, Benjamin, McKayla, Mikka and Brock Haugeberg, Chloe and Cate Fredericks, and Derry Westman; sister, Margie (Tom) Ahmann, Minot; brother, Allen Hulberg, Minot; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Betty was proceeded in death by her parents, Clarence and Anne Hulberg; and sister, Donna Mae Amrein
Celebration of Life Service: Saturday, June 30, 2012, at 10 a.m. CDT in First Lutheran Church, Watford City.
Interment: Saron Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Minot, Saturday at 4 p.m.
Visitation: Will be held today, June 29, from 3 to 7 p.m. CDT at Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City.
Memorials: Are preferred to the American Cancer Society and the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame.
