WILLISTON - Verna Ione Nelson, 98, Williston, died Tuesday, May 8, 2012, in a Williston nursing home.
She was born March 5, 1914, to Ingvald and Helga Grimstvedt, in Bonetraill. She married John Davis Aug. 1, 1937, in Russell, Ky. This marriage ended in divorce. She married Merle "Bud" Nelson in July 1943.
Graveside memorial service: Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., Scandia Valley Cemetery, Williams County. Visitation with the family will begin Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the cemetery.
Survivors: several nieces and nephews.
