A public hearing will be held Thursday on the proposed action plan for the use of more than $67.5 million in Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery funds in Minot.
Minot received the federal grant to address unique community needs related to the flood disaster. City leaders and staff have put together a proposed action plan with programs aimed at disaster relief, long-term recovery and restoration of infrastructure, housing and economic revitalization.
The proposed action plan will be released early this week.
The public hearing will run from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in City Hall. In addition to attending the hearing, residents can submit comments online at (www.minotrecoveryinfo.com) or by mailing a letter to City Hall, 515-2nd Ave. SW, Minot, N.D., 58701.
The public hearing is a key component of the Citizen's Participation Plan associated with the grant process. By law, the City must accept and appropriately respond to all public comments and then submit the proposed Action Plan to the Housing and Urban Development Department no later than July 23.
