BELCOURT - The Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa was awarded a $4 million grant for road repair from the U.S. Department of Transportation's Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery 2012 program.
The grant money is for road improvements on Bureau of Indian Affairs 7 College Road at Belcourt.
The funding will go to reconstruct 4.26 miles of road as well as add pedestrian and bicycle paths.
Total cost of the project is about $9.1 million.
