Marian Geigle, 70, Anamoose, died Friday, May 18, 2012, at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey.

Marian Wanner, daughter of Christ and Christina (Bonnet) Wanner, was born Sept. 4, 1941, near Mercer, where she was raised and educated.

She was once married to Otto Geigle. They made their home in Wahpeton and later Bismarck before moving to Pierre, S.D., in 1961. They lived in several South Dakota and Minnesota communities before settling on a farm south of Anamoose in 1973. Marian moved into Anamoose in 1976 where she had resided since.

While living in Minnesota, Marian worked for a local nursery planting trees. After moving to the Anamoose area she worked at St. Aloisius Medical Center and K & J's Diner for a time and later worked at the Drake Locker plant.

She is survived by three daughters, Monica (James) Schmidt of Anamoose, Lucille (Mike) Kline of New York Mills, Minn., and Sharlene (Ron) Schuh of Bismarck; one son, Darren (Lisa) Geigle of Anamoose; her special friend and companion, Melvin Peiler of Anamoose; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Theodore (Doris) Wanner of Bismarck and Herbert (Melvin) Wanner of Minot; and two sisters, Lillian Bentz of Underwood and Helen (Herbert) Grosz of McClusky.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, John Wanner; and one sister, Ruth Vogel.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Martin Lutheran Church in Anamoose, with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday (today) from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Bethke-Nelson Funeral Home in Drake.
