The Rev. Frank Picard, Minot, lived up to his end of the deal when he allowed students from Congregational United Church of Christ, MInot, and Hope Congregational Church, Granville, to shave his beard. Picard challenged the students to raise a set amount of money for a well-water project in Cameroon, Africa, and told them if they met their goal he would let them shave his beard on his final day. The children raised $769.53, which exceeded their goal.
Picard preached his last sermon in Minot on May 6.
