Students pitching in

May 6, 2012
Minot Daily News

Mary-Beth Gross, Minot

So often we hear the negatives regarding our teenagers. The positives are often not discussed, so I wanted to tell about a positive experience some Minot High School-Magic City Campus students did on Tuesday, April 24, during junior ACT testing.

Approximately 100 seniors signed up for helping to clean Roosevelt Park and the surrounding area. Tuesday, armed with garbage bags and gloves, the students did an amazing job helping clean the park. When we left, all of our garbage bags had been used, in addition to several additional garbage piles left for the city park board pick up.

The students should be commended for their work ethic, great attitude and generosity of time in helping out. Their attitude and enthusiasm made this a fun job to help supervise.
