Supporting Rick Berg

C.B. Haas, Taylor

Think about the current economic situation in North Dakota for a minute. It is obvious that the policies implemented by the North Dakota Legislature, under Republican leadership, over the past number of years are responsible for the thriving North Dakota economy today. Rick Berg played a huge part in the development and implementation of those policies.

It is true that North Dakota has been fortunate to have an abundance of natural resources for which no politician can take credit with which to work. It is also true that the regulatory climate established under the leadership of people like Berg has played a significant role in the development of those resources. We are among the states with the lowest unemployment rate and the highest rate of personal income growth in the nation.

This is an enviable position to be in, but it didn't happen by accident.

Berg and the Republicans have established the minimum regulations necessary for controlled growth but have also been very careful not to have those regulations be burdensome to private business growth, job development and the free enterprise system.

In November, we have a chance to elect a new senator to represent North Dakota, someone who will help put our country on the path to prosperity. We need to send Berg to the U.S. Senate in Washington. He has supported and will continue to support conservative pro-job/pro-business policies that have created a robust economy in North Dakota and will create the same for our nation.

I believe in business growth and jobs, not more taxes and regulation. Berg will bring North Dakota common sense policies to Congress and the nation that will bring this country out of the economic doldrums.
