Betty Rae Flom-Voeller, 58, Minot, formerly of Glasgow, Mont., died Saturday, April 7, 2012, in her home after losing her battle with cancer.
Betty was born Oct. 20, 1953, in Glasgow, to Julius and Olga (Todahl) Flom. She was reared there and graduated from Glasgow High School in 1971. She was once married to Cliff Cook and they made their home in Glasgow. Betty was employed at the Department of Motor Vehicles Office, a theater and deli all in Glasgow.
Betty married Marvin Voeller on Jan. 20, 1997, in Minot. They made their home in Minot where she was employed at the Roosevelt Park Zoo, Department of Motor Vehicles office and operated a foster care/day care for three years. Most recently, she was employed at Diva Lifewear and was self-employed as an alterations seamstress at Minot Air Force Base.
Betty was a member of the Jaycees and was a Girl Scout and 4-H leader, all in Glasgow. She especially enjoyed reading, crocheting, sewing, cooking, baking, knitting and caring for animals.
Betty is survived by: her husband, Marvin Voeller, of Minot; daughter, Christina Cook, of Alton, Ill.; stepsons, Dusty Voeller and Micheal Feigitsch, both of Minot; grandchild, Kali Holmes; siblings, Phyllis (Eldon) Huston and Jackie (Bob) Bird, both of St. Marie, Mont., Gerry Dahl, of Glasgow, Joyce (Kon) Fuhrman, of Great Falls, Mont., Kermit (Shawn) Flom and Karen (Larry) Fuhrman, both of Nashua, Mont.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Jalmer, LeRoy, Richard and Julius Jr.
Funeral Service: Thursday, April 12, at 10 a.m., in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorial Service: Saturday, April 14, at 10 a.m., in Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church, Nashua, Mont.
Visitation: There will be no reviewal but friends may sign a memorial register today, Wednesday, April 11, from 2 to 7 p.m., in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials: In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials are preferred to Souris Valley Animal Shelter, 1935-20th Ave. SE, Minot, ND 58701.
