Marsha K. Ulberg, 61, Minot, died Saturday, April 7, 2012, in her home.
Marsha Lulai was born May 20, 1950, in Jamestown, a daughter of Edward and Rose Ardis (Podhasky) Lulai. She was raised on the family farm 10 miles north of Jamestown, attended Ashland Township schools and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1968. Marsha furthered her education by obtaining a bachelor of science degree in sociology from Minot State University.
Marsha was united in marriage to Jerry Ulberg on Dec. 28, 1972, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Fried. They made their home in Minot until 1974, when they moved to Phoenix. While in Phoenix, Marsha worked in retail service at Sears. In 1976, they returned to Minot, where she worked at Stevenson's department store. Their son, Brad, who was their pride and joy, was born in June 1982. Marsha was able to be a stay-at-home mom until June 1995, when she began working in sales for Clear Channel Radio Stations. She later worked for Midwest Business Systems.
Marsha was a marvelous cook. She competed in chili cookoffs for several years, winning the state chili cookoff in the late 1980s, which allowed her to compete nationally. She enjoyed spending time with friends at her cabin at Strawberry Lake, gardening and grilling outside. Marsha had a spunky sense of humor and her own sense of style, and her decorating abilities were second to none.
