Barbara Ceglowski, 78, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012, in the Denver Hospice in Denver.
Barbara Jean Ceglowski was born Jan. 11, 1934, in Minot. Her parents, Mary Agnes and John S. Ceglowski, were lifelong and prominent residents of Minot.
Barbara attended St. Leo's School in Minot for 12 years and was active in student affairs. She graduated from St. Leo's High School in 1952. She entered Ladycliff College, Highland Falls, N.Y., in 1952 where she was a member of the Drama Club. Her roommate and friend, Joan, became her sister-in-law. She graduated in 1956 with a bachelor of arts degree in history.
She became a 3rd Order Franciscan nun.
Barbara was once married to Virl Haas, who she married at St. Leo's Church in Minot on June 15, 1956. She traveled throughout the country as a West Point officer's wife and had four children.
Barbara returned to Minot in 1963. She was a mother, an interior decorator and a member of the Labor Union Local #580 in Minot.
She was active with and cherished the ladies in the Ladies' Guild at St. Leo's Church.
She resided primarily in Minot, with a brief time working in Fargo, until 2000, when she relocated to Denver.
Survivors include: her siblings, Frank E. Ceglowski, North Potomac, Md., and Mary Goldberg, Denver; children, Dr. Edward V. Haas, MD, Jersey City, N.J., Eric J. Haas, Birmingham, Ala., Dr. Barbara J. Glesener, Highlands Ranch, Colo., and Mary E. Haas, Centennial, Colo.; grandchildren, Gabriella Haas, Marilyn Haas, Katherine Haas, Benjamin Haas, Paula Jenkins and Brenda Jenkins.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Lt. Col. John P. Ceglowski.
Services will be held Friday, March 16, at 11:15 a.m., at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Centennial. Burial plans are pending.
Barbara loved life deeply, cherished children, and loved animals so much they were drawn to her. She graced the world with her love.
