Alice Rogelstad

Alice 'Bebe' Rogelstad, 85, of rural Heimdal, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey. Her funeral will be held Monday, March 12, at 2 p.m., in Hoff Lutheran Church in Heimdal with burial in the Hillside Cemetery of Fessenden. Visitation will be held Sunday, from 2 to 5 pm., at Nelson Funeral Home in Fessenden.

Alice Cline, daughter of Lloyd and Emma Mae (Lee) Cline, was born Oct. 26, 1926, at Pleasant Lake. Her earliest years were spent in Pleasant Lake where she attended grade school. In 1935 she moved with her family to Rugby where she completed her education, graduating from Rugby High School in 1945.

As a young woman, Alice worked as a telephone operator in Rugby for several years.

On Feb. 23, 1949, she was married to Albert Huber in Rugby. They lived in Rugby and later Minot, before moving to Dunn Center in 1951 where they owned and operated a local hardware store. In 1961 they moved to Harvey and purchased the local Coast to Coast hardware store. Following her husband's death on Oct. 9, 1965, Alice continued to operate the store until 1967 when she sold the store and began working at the National Bank in Harvey.

On Dec. 10, 1970, she was married to Joe Rogelstad at Hiemdal. They made their home on the Rogelstad farm southeast of Heimdal. Joe passed away June 18, 2010.

Alice was a member of Hoff Lutheran Church of Heimdal.

She is survived by her daughter: Cheryl (Joe) Gross, of Arvada, Colo.; two stepsons, Marc (Brenda) Rogelstad, of Boardman, Ore., and Tim Rogelstad, of rural Heimdal; eight grandchildren, Chanda, Justin, Adam(Erica), Heather, Cassandra, Alex (Kyle), Ben, and Caleb; two great-grandchildren, Isaac and Addison; and one sister, Dorothy Miller, of Rugby.

She was preceded in death by: her husbands, Albert and Joe; her parents; one brother, Raymond; and two sisters, Eva and Frances.
