Park District to pursue grant for trail at Bison Plant
The Minot Park Board gave approval Tuesday for the park director to pursue a recreational trail grant.
At the board's monthly regular meeting, director of parks Ron Merritt discussed a grant available from the Recreational Trail Program.
The grant would be applicable towards making the trail at the Bison Plant into an actual primitive trail, and not a paved trail.
It would "make the trail there better," Merritt said, noting that the trail would be widened a bit.
The grant is an 80/20 match grant and, as Merritt explained at the meeting, the maximum would be $150,000, based on the number of miles that the trail entails.
