Kenneth Reed, 71, Cando, passed away Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at his home under the care of Mercy Hospice of Devils Lake.
Kenneth George Reed was born Nov. 26, 1940, in Rolla to Clayton and Rose Marie (Vandal) Reed. He graduated from Rolla High School in 1959 and received his master's degree from NDSU in Fargo. On Aug. 6, 1964, he was united in marriage to Judy Bonn at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Bisbee. After serving in the military he taught school and served as superintendent of schools in several schools in North Dakota. He also was in private enterprise.
Ken is survived by: his wife, Judy Reed, of Cando; son, Derrick Reed, of Mount Vernon, Ill.; daughter, Jerrilyn (Kriss) Walstad, of East Grand Forks, Minn.; granddaughters, Alexie and Kaitlyn Randall, of East Grand Forks; and a sister, Marlene (Don) Abrahamson, of Rugby.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant twin brothers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 11 a.m., in Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Cando.
Interment will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Bisbee in the spring. Military honors will be provided by the Hal Parker Post #79 Cando American Legion and Military Funeral Honors.
Visitation will begin one hour prior to the funeral Mass at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Mercy Hospice, 420-4th Ave. NE, Devils Lake, ND 58301.
