Volunteers needed to craft valentines

January 13, 2012
By DAILY NEWS STAFF , Minot Daily News

People wishing to send a little love to former servicemen and women are coming up on a good opportunity to do so.

Volunteers are invited to gather at the American Legion Club, 1049 N. Broadway, Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. to help the American Legion Auxiliary "Valentines for Veterans" committee create valentines for veterans.

According to auxiliary president Delores Walhood, the group sends out some 1,500 of them each year.

Walhood said volunteers could come help make valentines at the club or they could make them in their homes or schools and auxiliary members would come pick them up.

"We need to mail them out before the end of January," Walhood said, noting that Monday's event is open to anyone who would like to volunteer.

For more information, or to have an auxiliary member come pick up some valentines, contact committee chairwoman Carol Crabbe at 721-4020.
