DATES SET FOR NEXT WND SYNOD GIFTS EVENT The next Western North Dakota Synod Growing in Faith to Serve programs will be Jan. 27-28 in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Bismarck. It begins with registration at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 27, with the opening session starting at 7 p.m. Sessions will resume Jan. 28 at 9 a.m. and will conclude by 3 p.m. The topic will be "Called to Freedom: Paul's letter to the Galatians."
James L. Boyce, emeritus professor of New Testament and Greek at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minn., will be the presenter.
The event is open to all Evangelical Lutheran Church in America members. People are encouraged to bring their Bibles

BIBLE TALKS PLANNED Nondenominational Bible Talks will be held in the Carnegie Center, 105-2nd Ave. SE, on Jan. 22 and 29 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. There is no charge to attend.

OUR SAVIOR CHURCH TO HOST CONCERT BY HENDRICKS Jim Hendricks will perform a piano concert Sunday at 7 p.m. in Our Savior Lutheran Church, 3705-11th St. SW. This will be his second concert in the Minot church.
Hendricks has performed with such legends as Dave Brubeck, Della Reese, Rita Moreno, Tito Puente and Maynard Ferguson. While on tour with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, he realized he was not using his talents for God's glory. Since then, Hendricks has performed piano concerts in churches all across the land, including three appearances at the Crystal Cathedral.
Hendricks has made 11 piano recordings and authored a book, Contemporary Arrangements for To- day's Church Pianist.
The date of the concert was incorrect in a previous announcement.
PRIMETIMERS TO MEET THURSDAY The PrimeTimers Fellowship group from Our Redeemer's Church in Minot will meet Thursday at 2 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 700-16th Ave. SE.
Chelce Detert, youth director at the church, will sing and share her testimony during the program part of the meeting.
Refreshments will be served by Group 1.
TURKEY DINNER TO BE SERVED SUNDAY IN ST. LEO'S CHURCH Knights of Columbus Council 9906, Minot, will serve a roast turkey dinner Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the lower level of St. Leo's Catholic Church, 218-1st St. SE.
Cost of the home-cooked roast turkey dinner will be $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 6 to 12. There will be no charge for children ages 5 and under. A maximum family charge of $25 for parents and children 18 and under will be available.
MINOT CHURCH TO MARK BIRTHDAY OF REV. MARTIN LUTHER KING ON SUNDAY ?The birthday of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. will be marked Sunday in Congregational United Church of Christ, 430 N. Broadway, with special services and lectures on Sunday.
The Rev. Frank Picard, pastor of the church will address King's view of global ethics and of King's work with religious leaders of all faiths around the world during the 11 a.m. worship service.
A bring-your-own brown bag luncheon time will follow the service from noon to 12:30 p.m. A lecture by retired N.D. Supreme Court Justice Herb Meschke will follow the luncheon time. Meschke will speak about the contribution of former N.D. Federal Judge Ronald Davies to the civil rights movement.
