Wow 2012! This past year has gone by so fast for me. I'm 14 years old and God has done so much in my life over the past year.
One of the main things God taught me in 2011 is purity.
I've been reading this amazing book called "Before you Meet Prince Charming" by Sarah Malley. Reading through her book this past year has helped me to make the decision to become pure. God was just tugging at my heart saying "Gen, I want you to read her book carefully and listen."

Living in this rough environment it's difficult for teens to stay pure. It's hard to stand up and say I'm a Christian because we want to be like the world and we don't want to stand out or be different. God wants us to be different because we need to be a light in this dark world! We need to be not afraid to stand up and say "I'm a Christian" because we have Jesus helping us along the way and he will "Never leave you or forsake you."(Hebrews 13:5)
During this past summer I had a really tough time making wise choices because I wanted to be like everyone else so I started doing stuff that other people did, said what they said and I knew it was wrong. Every time I would open my Bible I would open up to a verse that would talk about having wisdom and not being afraid to speak up. One of my really great friends was with me at this time and she helped me so much to be able to focus on God more instead of other things like how do I look, what am I going to wear, boys and what people think of me.
We don't need to be worried about these things because beauty and handsomeness is on the inside not outside. "For man looks on the outside but God, he looks on the inside." (1 Samuel 16:7)
For me purity is a very big part of my life and I hope God puts it on your hearts to be able to make the decision to become pure as Jesus did in mine!
