FARGO Velva High School won the State Class B North Dakota Cheer Coach Association Fall State Cheer Competition in Fargo on Nov. 12.
It was the first time that Velva has won the competition, said Molly Kaylor, a parent of one of the girls on the team.
Bishop Ryan High School placed second overall.
