Along with a full slate of events and performances planned at multiple venues over Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the second annual "Why Not?! Fest" kicks off with a block party set for today at 7 p.m. in the Blue Rider in downtown Minot.
Co-organizer Tanuel Lowery said the event is planned to raise money for all the touring bands and event venues.
"(The Why Not?! Fest is) this amazing event that will bring diversity and culture to our broken town," Lowery said in a release "not to mention raise spirits!"
The "Pre-Why Not?! Fest Block Party" will feature performances by the Village Green Mouse River Preservation Society, Bite Marks, Atoms Rite, Morning Red, Crooked Gospel, HighWater LowLifes and cowboy rapping by The Sandman.
The event is open to people 21 and older with admission price of $5. All proceeds go to support the Why Not?! Fest.
