All City of Minot residents and businesses will be allowed back into the Mandatory Evacuation Zones without time restrictions, providing they do not have water in their yards and do not have to drive through water getting to their property.
Do not use sewer or water in the Evacuation Zones and keep your sewers plugged.
Do not drive on roads with water on them. As the water has receded, we have noticed several roads with sink holes.
People must have an ID on them showing their address.
If residents see any water in their homes, they should call Xcel Energy (1-800-895-4999) to disconnect electric service before entering. It is important to de-energize the electrical system. Safety must come first!
People should not enter any area that has water standing as the City's electrical system is still energized and dangerous.
The city will have teams of fire and health officials going door to door in the re-entry zones passing out information and answering questions.
The city urges residents not to stay at their property overnight unless they have a self contained camper to stay in. Please park campers in the driveway and not on the street. Contractors will need access to the boulevards to be able to pick up the flood debris.
Residents should wear masks (N95), boots, gloves and eye protection, when cleaning their homes.
