According to the National Weather Service, the Souris River was at an elevation of 1,557.99 feet at the Broadway Bridge as of Monday at 2 p.m.

- Minot Area Flood Relief Fund, established by Ogden Newspapers Inc., owners of The Minot Daily News and the Pierce County Tribune in Rugby, to benefit Minot area flood victims. Donate by going to The Minot Daily News website. When visitors go to the site (www.minotdailynews.com), click on the "donate" button under the Minot Area Flood Relief headline, and they are directed to the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley Inc., established by Ogden Newspapers which has its headquarters in Wheeling, W.Va. The fund is also available on the websites of all Ogden newspapers in Minnesota and Iowa.

- Minot Area Recovery Fund: Call 852-0646; send donations to Minot Area Recovery Fund, Wells Fargo Center, 15-2nd Ave. SW, Suite 102, Minot, ND 58701 or visit (www.centerforcommunitygiving.com).

- Residents can apply for FEMA individual assistance online at (www.disasterassistance.gov) or call 1-800-621-3362.

- Flood Hotline for Minot and Ward County (8 a.m. to 6 p.m.): 858-9366.

- Minot Air Force Base Emergency Family Assistance Center (emergency shelter, information, referral & support, donations): 723-4500.

- A Disaster Recovery Center will open today in Burlington to assist North Dakota residents affected by flooding. The center will be located at Burlington-Des Lacs Elementary School, 301 Wallace St. S, Burlington. The center opens at 1 p.m. today, and continues Wednesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Recovery program representatives will be available to help answer one-on-one questions about assistance, but it is not necessary to visit a center to receive disaster assistance.

- Contractor training for cleaning flood damaged homes and businesses will be held Friday, July 8, at the North Central Research Extension Center, located at 5400 U.S. Highway 83 S. North Dakota State University Extension Center is partnering with First District Health Unit and the Mid-Dakota Chapter of the Red Cross to present training on the step by step process and procedures for cleaning a flooded home or other building. NDSU Extension engineer Ken Hellevang, a nationally known specialist in flood preparation and recovery including mold and moisture problems, will conduct the training, which is free and requires no registration. Anyone with questions can contact NDSU Extension at 857-6450. Also, an NDSU Extension flood information resources website is located at (www.ag.ndsu.edu/flood).

- Pet shelter at North Central Research Extension Center, one mile south of Minot at 5400 Highway 83 S. Service provided by the Souris Valley Animal Shelter. The shelter at the extension center is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. People do not need to call ahead to drop off pets at the extension center. However, for specific questions call 720-7203 or 240-8794.

- Nutritional assistance has been made available to Ward County residents affected by recent flooding who are not current clients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. The program is intended to help those who experienced disaster-related losses and lived or worked in Ward County at the time of the disaster. People are urged to act soon and apply between July 5-13 at the Ward County Social Services Office, 400-22 nd Ave. NW, Minot. Applicants should bring a photo ID, utility bill or other mail with identifying information and address, or a signed statement of identity provided by another person, and available paycheck stubs and receipts for disaster expenses. In addition, the department also received approval to issue supplemental benefits to current SNAP recipients. Those benefits are available immediately. Anyone with questions can contact county Social Services at 852-3552, or the state Department of Human Services at 800-755-2716.

- Department of Veterans Affairs may be able to help flood victims who have VA loans in the affected areas. For more information go to (www.benefits.va.gov/homeloans/docs/va-policy-regarding-natural-disasters.pdf) or contact the nearest VA Regional Loan Center at 1-877-827-3702. People can also contact the Ward County Veterans Service Office at 857-6490.

- North Central Human Service Center has closed its temporary office on North Hill. Clients can now access services at 1015 S. Broadway, No. 18.

- Mid-Dakota Chapter of American Red Cross in Minot: 852-2828.
