I have just graduated from Minot High School. I will be joining the Air National Guard and will be attending North Dakota State University in the fall to major in history education. I will also be enrolled in North Dakota State University's Air Force ROTC program. With my history education degree, I will become a teacher after I retire from my career in the Air Force.
With all of my plans I have for myself, I have one more. That plan is to continue to worship. I am a Lutheran, and I attend Christ Lutheran Church.
When I am away at school I will continue to follow my faith, and never let it die, especially when I am at basic military training.

The Bible says in 2 Peter 1:3 that as we grow in our knowledge of God, through his divine power he gives us everything we need for life and godliness. This verse has inspired in me that throughout my life, in whatever I do, wherever I go, he will be there to help me keep my faith in him strong and everlasting.
At the present time I attend church with my family, and I know that while at college, I will not have that luxury. But as the summer passes along I know that my faith in him will never die down or falter. I know that he will always be there for me on my chosen path. This belief becomes even stronger when I remember Proverbs 16:9 which says that a man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. I believe that I am the way I am because God has made me this way, and I could not be happier.
He has a plan for all of us, and that is truly amazing. Some may think that there is no God because bad things have happened to them. Well, bad things happen to good people every day, and what gets me through the bad times is that I know that these bad things occurred for a greater purpose. I believe that there is a reason for everything that happens in our lives, both good and bad.
I am joining the United States Armed Forces for a greater purpose to be part of something that is bigger than me, to help save lives and protect my country. I know that not everyone shares my beliefs, and that's OK. I know that everyone will find the Lord in their own way. It just takes longer for some than others.
As I travel down my path in life I know that he will always be there for me. I would like to share this piece of revelation, if you will, with all of you that I thought of last week that I posted on Facebook. I posted, "Do you ever have those moments where you say to yourself 'I hate life,' but then you think about all of the gifts that the good Lord has given you such as family, friends, tomorrow, and you realize that even though you may be down at the moment, life isn't really all that bad, and u realize that u actually don't hate life." I post things like that on Facebook, not gossip. So next time you are "down in the dumps" think about all of the good things in life, and know that those are there because of him.
