Tami Bradley, the language arts teacher for grades six through eight at South Prairie School, received the Teacher Techie Award from the North Dakota Association of Technology Leaders in April, and a plaque naming her the Techie Teacher of the Year.
"It was a nice surprise," Bradley said.
Bradley helped write a grant that got the school a lot of technology this year, said her principal Del Groninger, who nominated her for the award. All of the teachers at the school do a lot with technology, but Bradley in particular is a real "techie."

Thanks to the grant, children in the upper grades have their own laptops for use in school and kids have access to a cart of iPads. Bradley enjoys using a slate computer which she said is "cool" because she can be anywhere in the classroom and writing on it.
Bradley said she probably doesn't do more than other teachers do, but that it was nice to get recognition.
