From one North Dakotan to another

Mark Hagerott, the Meritorious Service Medal at the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Md. The award was for Hagerott’s recent service in Afghanistan. Miller is a native of Minot and superintendent of the Naval Academy; Hagerott, originally from Mandan, is on the faculty at the Naval Academy where he specializes in the history of the development of technology and energy systems. In Afghanistan, Hagerott was a senior staff adviser in the Afghan training and education command, the organization responsible for building the Afghan army, air force, police and military medical systems. Miller became the 61st superintendent of the Naval Academy Aug. 3, 2010.
