BISMARCK -- The Bismarck Art & Galleries Association will offer two new classes this spring.
"Water Medium Systems" with Leon Basler April 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. and April 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost is $60 for both days.
During this workshop the student will be introduced to various techniques, color mixes, the use of light and shadows, composition, understanding perspective, use of color to set the mood and textures. This workshop is open to all ages and experience levels.

A "Mixed Media Workshop" with Walter Piehl is set for May 20 from 6 to 9 p.m. and May 21 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $80 for both days.
The workshop will engage students with mixed media painting. They will use water based paints on either canvas or paper and various other drawing materials including pencils, markers, water soluble crayons, charcoal, oil sticks, and wax crayons.
Piehl is a professor of art at Minot State University. His work has been on exhibit across the United States and is included in many public and private collections.
