Lisa Murphy, a teacher at North Plains Elementary School at Minot Air Force Base, has been named teacher of the year by the local David C. Jones chapter of the Air Force Association.
Murphy uses the Department of Defense STARBASE curriculum, which features innovative lessons in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Murphy encourages all of her students to participate in experiments and activities while she consistently reinforces their ideas creating a safe and positive learning environment. Murphy will represent the local chapter at the North Dakota State competition in April.
