Bottineau man recognized for community leadership

BOTTINEAU -- Tim Davis was presented with the North Dakota Chamber of Commerce Community Leadership Award Feb. 26 in Bottineau.

The award is one of the Chamber's highest honors and is being presented in recognition of the spirit of service and support Davis brings to the community of Bottineau.

Davis retired from full-time teaching at Bottineau High School in 2000 after 32 years of service. He continues as a substitute teacher in Bottineau High School and is also an adjunct English teacher at Dakota College at Bottineau.

Active in Bottineau Community Theater for over 40 years, Davis has directed numerous Community Theater productions, as well as plays at both the Bottineau High School and the community's college. He has also directed plays in several surrounding communities.

Davis was honored by the Bottineau Community Theater in having its theater building named, "The Davis Playhouse."

"Tim has had a significant impact on his community and its youth," says Andy Peterson, president of the North Dakota Chamber of Commerce. "His many years of service to the Bottineau community are truly inspiring."
