Marian J. Kulzer, 86, Minot, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, in a Minot hospital.
Marian was born July 29, 1924, a daughter of Henry and Caroline (Bommersbach) Lock, in Forman. She was raised and educated in the Forman area. Following her graduation, Marian spent three years in Denver, working as an aircraft mechanic.
On Nov. 25, 1946, Marian was united in marriage to Norbert J. Kulzer. They made their home on a farm north of Rutland. To this union they had five daughters and one son. In 1961, they moved into Minot. Norbert died Sept. 25, 1971. Following his death, she continued to live in the house they purchased together in 1967. She was employed at Newberry's Department Store and J.C. Penney store as a sales associate, retiring in 1988.
Marian was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, the St. Theresa Guild and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers, all Minot.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, fishing and playing bingo.
She is survived by: son, James (Linda) Kulzer, Harrisburg, S.D.; daughters, Janet (Roy) Miller, Minot, Carolyn (Joe) Ritchie, Bradenton, Fla., Cindy (Mike) Brunner, Minot, Nancy (Tim) Stock, Lincoln, Tami (Allen Edwardson) Kulzer, Minot; 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; brother, Roger (Lorraine) Lock, Minot; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norbert; brothers, Harvey and Donald; sister, Geraldine; and a grandchild, Claudette Miller.
Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at 10:30 a.m., in St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot.
Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: Thursday, Jan. 27, from 2 to 7 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Vigil prayer service: Thursday, at 7 p.m., in Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.
