So, today is the day, Election Day, when adult citizens of every walk of life, every income bracket, every religion and political persuasion can exercise their right to vote, or not.
It's a great day to be an American.
Having said that, we will remind again those about to be elected or re-elected to Congress, of the giant elephant in the room.
Regardless of which party after today's elections will control the U.S. House, regardless of which will control the U.S. Senate, regardless of which party or melting pot of presidents and congressmen brought us to this point....the $13.6 trillion national debt is not sustainable.
No loving or even merely decent father or mother would willing impose such a financial burden upon themselves, their children and grandchildren as our elected "leaders" in Washington have so callously dumped upon this great country.
Whatever one thinks actually caused our economic "melt down" a simplistic, all-encompassing modern term which can only translate to "we're all going broke, just at different rates" the size of the public debt has slowed any recovery and will continue to eat away at optimism, which more than even jobs, is necessary for the economy to rebound.
Stop the bleeding and this patient will not only live but thrive.
