Custom Western furniture at fair

July 28, 2010

Mike Bray, Monticello, Minn., a saddlemaker by trade, also designs and makes a variety of Western-themed furniture such as the jewelry box shown here. "If somebody buys something out here, their brands are as important as their wife and kids," said Bray. "So, I'll tool up their brand and put it on a piece to personalize it as much as I can." Bray has a variety of furniture items for sale at the North Dakota State Fair, including coat racks, hat racks and buckle shelves. The craftsman has several holsters on display as well, which Bray says have been excellent sellers in Minnesota. Bray and Clark Leather of Shakopee, Minn., maker of chaps and and horse equipment, can be found in the Commercial I building at the State Fair.
