BLAISDELL Curtis Moe of Garrison was really surprised to see a black bear when he was driving on U.S. Highway 2 near Blaisdell Wednesday afternoon.
"At first I thought it was a black Angus cow," Moe said.
Moe, who lives in Garrison and works in Tioga, said he was one mile east of the Blaisdell turnoff on U.S. 2 when he saw the bear which ran out. He said that was about 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Moe said he'd read the story about the black bear being seen in the Bowbells area in The Minot Daily News Thursday. But he thinks the bear he saw might not be the same one.
He said this bear was quite good sized 300 to 400 pounds. The one sighted in the Bowbells area was figured to be about 250 pounds. Moe's quite familiar with black bear since he used to live in Montana.
Last he knows, the Blaisdell area bear was heading south.
