Ruth Fischer, 89, Harvey, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, in Phoenix, Ariz.
Ruth Wagner, daughter of John C. and Lena (Kreiter) Wagner, was born June 12, 1920, on the family farm in Rusland Township, Wells County. She graduated from Eigenheim #5 and received her high school education by correspondence.
On July 20, 1939, she was married to Arthur Fischer at Mandan. They made their home in Rusland Township all of their married lives and celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in July 2009 in Harvey.
Ruth was a lifelong member of the Manfred Seventh-day Adventist Church. She served as a leader of the Dorcas Society for many years.
She is survived by: her husband, Arthur; their daughters, Delores (Thomas) McKinven, of Harvey, N.D., Gloria Pake, Peoria, Ariz., Phyllis (Thomas) Nudd, of Harvey; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Victor, of Harvey; three sisters, Darlene (Ervin) Buchwitz, Carrington, N.D., Ruby Wetzel, Bismarck, N.D., Ardella (James) Short, North Las Vegas, Nev., and sister-in-law, Agnes Wagner, Bismarck.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lawrence; and sisters, Esther (Roy) Miller and Elnora (Arthur) Treft.
Funeral: Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at 11 a.m. in Manfred Seventh-day Adventist Church, rural Manfred.
Burial: Church cemetery.
Visitation: Sunday, Feb. 21, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home in Fessenden.
