Therese Ann Zahn

Therese Ann Zahn, 80, Minot, died peacefully Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, in her home.

Therese loved life and lived it well, always with a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye. She fought a long struggle with cancer in a positive and courageous manner; as she would say, "One day at a time," and "God only gives you what you can handle trust in him."

Therese Ann Henjum was born July 15, 1929, in Minot. She was the daughter of Edward and Nellie (Martin) Henjum. Therese married Dale Edward Zahn on Aug. 25, 1949, at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Minot. Dale passed away Oct. 26, 1985.

She was involved in many church and community activities throughout her life.

Those who shared in her life: son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Holly Zahn, Norton, Ohio; daughter, Denise Zahn, Minot, daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Jim Van Bramer, Federal Way, Wash., and their children, Stephanie and Ean, Diane and Gary Schmitz, Coronado, Calif., and their children, Emily, Brett, Audrey and Caitlyn; sister and brother-in-law, Marge and Ward Nostdahl, Burlington; sisters-in-law, Jan (Zahn) Hoffman, Corpus Christi, Texas, and Marion (Henjum) Decker, Bismarck; brother-in-law, John Selzer, Velva; and many nieces and nephews.

Therese was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; parents, Edward and Nellie Henjum; brothers, Edward, Bill and John Henjum; sisters, Dorothy Behm, Verna Charlebois, Mary Anderson, Claire Newman and Pat Selzer.

Funeral: Thursday, Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. in St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot. Immediately following the funeral service there will be a gathering in the church hall.

Burial: A private burial will be in Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

Visitation and vigil service: Visitation today, Wednesday, Feb. 10, from noon to 7 p.m., with the vigil prayer service at 7 p.m., all at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials are preferred to the Minot Catholic Schools or Trinity Cancer Care, both in Minot.
