Aviation Fame recipients selected
FARGO Alexander Macdonald, Fargo, former North Dakota adjutant general, and Ron Deck, Hillsboro, a pioneer of GPS guidance for aerial application operators in N.D., have been named to the N.D. Aviation Hall of Fame.
Macdonald, who became an Air Force pilot in 1952, returned to N.D. to serve in various positions with the Guard. He was N.D. adjutant general from 1984-93. He has also served on the Fargo Airport Authority and was a founder of the Fargo Air Museum.
Deck, who has been flying since 1965, has served as president of the N.D. Aerial Applicators Association, president of the National Agricultural Aviation Association and chairman of the national association's constitution and by-laws committee.
The N.D. Aviation Hall of Fame will honor Macdonald and Deck at the N.D. Aviation Council's Upper Midwest Aviation Symposium banquet March 9 in the Fargo Holiday Inn.
