Madeline Christenson
June 14, 1911 -Dec. 26, 2009Madeline Irene Christenson, 98, Minot, and formerly of Bowbells and Coteau, died on Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, in a Minot health-care center.
Madeline was born on June 14, 1911, in Coteau to Peter M. and Anna (Chrest) Christenson. She was reared on a farm near Coteau and graduated from Coteau High School in 1929. She furthered her education at Interstate Business College in Fargo, where she received specialized training as a stenographer, bookkeeper and in office administration.
As a young adult she was employed in the Burke County Auditor's Office for three years. She moved to Minot during the 1930s and was employed at Dakota Transfer before working at the North Dakota State Highway Department office in Minot for many years. She retired on Labor Day of 1961 to care for her father and mother. She had resided at 122 S. Main St. in Minot for many years prior to entering ManorCare Healthcare Center in Minot.
Miss Christenson was a member of a Minot Lutheran church and she especially enjoyed reading the Bible.
Madeline is survived by: several cousins.
Miss Christenson was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Geneva Christenson.
Private graveside service: Will be in Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation and Reviewal: Today, Dec. 30, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
