TIOGA Jordan E. Melgaard, 83, Williston, formerly of Tioga and Crosby, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, in a Williston hospital.

He was born April 12, 1926, to John and Elvina Melgaard in Ambrose. He joined the Army in 1946 and served in the Aleutian Islands. He was discharged in 1947. He married Evelyn Rice March 10, 1957, near Tioga.

Survivors: daughter, Rebecca Pippenger, Williston; two grandchildren; two stepgrandsons; five stepgreat-grandchildren; brother, Leonard, Williston; sister, Stella Davis, Bremerton, Wash.

Funeral: Monday, 11 a.m., Norman Lutheran Church, north of Tioga.

Burial: Church cemetery.

Visitation: Saturday and Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m., in Fulkerson Funeral Home, Williston, and Monday, one hour prior to the service, in the church.
