NEW ROCKFORD Chester Roil Meier, 89, New Rockford, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, in a New Rockford nursing home.

He was born Jan. 20, 1920, to Christian and Rosie Meier in New Rockford. He married Ellen Dyrness Nov. 14, 1945, in Sheyenne.

Survivors: wife; sons: Douglas and Donovan, both Cathay, Dennis , Wheatland; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Violet Seibold, Fessenden, Ruth Jacobson, Bend, Ore.

Memorial service: Thursday, 11 a.m., First Lutheran Church, New Rockford.

Burial: Later in Prairie Home Cemetery, New Rockford.

Visitation:Today, 9 am. to 8 p.m., in Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford.
